Mr. Brendan's Swim Lessons

My Zoe girl has been attending swim lessons at Sweetman Swimmers with Brendan Sweetman.  For those faint of heart, these lessons wouldn't be for you.  His mother actually started the swim program at Vanderbilt and is known as the "Swim Nazi" for her teaching technique, which Brendan has adopted.  He's incredibly kind and passionate about your child being able to swim and save their own life in the pool, but he's stern which is what my child needs a lot of the time due to her fear of the water.  I actually remembered to take my camera and snap a few pics......

Zoe's First Elementary School Field Trip

Zoe went on her first school field trip to see the movie Cars 2.  She actually rode on the school bus and loved every minute of it.  Can you tell she's excited about going?

Shyla's 6th Birthday Party

Last weekend was Shyla's 6th birthday party and my girl had a blast!  Shyla requested a "surprise" pajama party and that's just what she got!  She had no idea it was going to happen, which was a miracle!  Each girl came in her pajamas with her favorite stuffed animal.  Check it out:

Kids Club Family Night

Zoe has been attending a Summer program at the elementary school she'll be attending this Fall called Kids Club.  Apparently, they have a theme they carry on throughout the Summer with every activity they do.  The theme this year was that they were shipwrecked outside of New York City and every activity centered around that idea.  Each year at the end of Summer they have "Kids Club Family Night" and put on a program for the parents.  It was too cute really. Check out the pics and videos of the performances:

Ryan's 5th Birthday

Since Zoe has been at Kids Club this Summer she has really missed her McKendree friends.  She has mentioned on several occasions wanting to back and visit with everyone, but that just never seems to work out.  Thankfully, her buddy Ryan invited her to his 5th birthday party at Pump It Up and she got to see all of her old friends.  You can tell that poor girl had really missed all of them.

Can you tell that Zoe & Ryan missed each other?

Cards v. Reds

Our best friends, The Riggs, had us over a few weeks ago for dinner on a Friday night.  That night was the beginning of a three game series between the Cardinals and the Reds.  As most of you know, my husband is a HUGE Cardinals fan.  What most of you might not know, Chris Riggs is a HUGE Reds fan.  It's funny because they never say much to each other, but they will each deck themselves out in their respective team's attire when they know they are going to see each other.  Anyway, when we arrived at the Riggs' house there was white paint on the glass front door that said, "Cardinals Fans $20.00" with Chris' Reds jersey hanging on the door.  It was pretty funny if I do say so myself.  The next night we had Chris & Shelley over for dinner (the twins had gone back home with Shelley's parents for a week) and I, of course, had to retaliate.  You don't think I let Chris' door decorations go without doing something in return, did you?  If you did.....you don't know me very well.  Anyway, this was what greeted Chris & Shelley when they arrived at our house:
