"...Where Are You?"

Our little Zoe is talking so much! This is her new favorite phrase and it is too cute! I can't believe how fast they grow up! Enjoy!

I Wish I Had This Body....

My bud, Shelley, is currently training for the Country Music 1/2 Marathon. I have to admit that she has inspired me to REALLY start exercising. I had been walking, but have started running because I keep thinking, "She is so busy....she's a mom with TWINS and she finds the time to make herself run....there is no excuse I can come up with to NOT run." Well, other than the fact that I hate to run. I've never been a runner. Now, my husband on the other hand used to run cross country and was in the Army so he is quite the runner. He won't run for a while, will jump on the treadmill and before you know it he's run about three miles! IT MAKES ME SO JEALOUS! But, I seriously wanted to get in shape this year for my health. My inspiration for that? My beautiful daughter, Zoe, God has blessed us with. I look at her and know that if I want to be around for years then I need to do something to help that. Sitting on the counch watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVDs won't do it. I can walk/run and watch it! Yeah! Anyway, since Shelley is the mother of Twins and is the current president of POTATO (again....where does she find the time), she has a sponsor and is training with some of the other mommies from POTATO. So, I really HAVE NO EXCUSE not to exercise. With Shelley being the gifted writer that she is (remember the Zoe Appleseed story?), she has created a Blog for the "Mommy runners" on her team and I admit I almost peed in my pants when I saw what she had done. She posted pics of the girls in the group, but I don't think it's their bodies. You be the judge...

Shelley, I'm so proud of you! You go girl!

Juice Box

Our Zoe is growing up soooo fast! I bought her some "juice boxes" and she LOVES them. She was hysterical drinking out of the straw! And, yes, it would appear that our child is always naked! We can't keep clothes on her! I'm scared she's going to be an exhibitionist in a nudist colony!!!! Just joking Daddy & Papa before you both have a cow!

Pig Tails

As most of you know, my poor Zoe doesn't have a lot of hair. Anyway, she has now reached the point where I can put her hair in "pig tails." SHE IS TOO FREAKIN' CUTE! These aren't the best pictures because Zoe is too busy to stop and let you take her picture, but you get the idea. We had to have pig tails to match her Minnie Mouse outfit....she needed to have "ears" like Minnie Mouse!

My Mickey Hat

What can I say? In addition to being an Elmo Fanatic, Zoe LOVES Mickey Mouse. Aunt Patty and I went shopping while her and Uncle Poopy were visiting over New Year's weekend. While out and about, Aunt Patty bought her favorite niece a Mickey Mouse hat at the Disney store. It's too cute and Zoe LOVES to wear it! Thanks Aunt Patty! We love you:0)

Can You Say Sick?!?

Okay...our poor Zoe has had one illness after another! First, we went to my parent's house on December 21st and came back on the 23rd. Right before we left, Zoe's eye seemed a little gooey. I didn't want to leave town and take the chance she was getting pink eye so I called Dr. Beveridge and she called in the eye drops to have with us. Then, once we got back Zoe kept getting more and more snot (where does all this stuff come from?) and her cough was really pronounced! We ended up in the doctor's office on Christmas Eve getting a steroid shot for croup! All seemed well and I sent her back to school on the 26th, 27th and 28th. Aunt Patty & Uncle Poopy arrived on the 28th and in the wee hours of the morning on the 29th, Zoe started vomiting and continued to vomit throughout the day on the 29th. The next day she seemed to be recovering and then on the 30th she started having diarrhea! Ugh! On New Year's Day she started having that very pronounced cough again so I took her in to see the doctor the next day to make sure the croup wasn't coming back. It wasn't, but we had to continue the breathing treatments we had started on Christmas Eve when the croup started. The next day, the 3rd of January, I got a call that she was running a fever and wheezing. I immediately took her straight to the doctor and ended up having to do a breathing treatment on her before we could leave. They put her on an antibiotic (again, she had so much snot) and we had to start Pulmicort (an inhaled steroid) in addition to the other medications. That night I almost took her to the ER because her reps at times were around 56. If you'll remember, they sent us to the ER at 62 last March. So...I stacked a few treatments, got that under control, kept the fever under control (the higher the temperature, the faster their breathing becomes) and managed to get through the night. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY sleep deprived since I was up every 30 minutes checking on her. The next day I called the doctor and requested they put her on an oral steroid. Thankfully, she agreed and called it in. I gave that to her on Friday night and by Saturday there was a great improvement in her breathing and wheezing. So....she went back to school on Monday and has done good (should I dare say that out loud?) since that time. We are down to three Xopenex treatments per day, two Pulmicort treatments per day, Singulair once per day and her Zyrtec once per day. She still has the antibiotic, but we don't have much more of it. They are doing a great job giving her a treatment at school, and they've assured me that she doesn't have any issues while at school. So...all of you say some prayers that my little one will get better soon!
