Something Borrowed

There is a movie coming out based on one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS called Something Borrowed by Emily Giffen.  This book had me literally laughing out loud and crying, too.  Emily Giffen is a great author and the next book in the series is Something Blue, which continues the story of Darcy from the first book.  Anyway, I hope they've done the book justice.  And I so HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!  Shelley & Becca.....get ready because we're going to see it!

About to Lose Her First.....

TOOTH!!!!

You can actually see her big tooth already coming in & pusing her baby tooth out.
Where has the time gone?!?
For the record, Zoe cut her first tooth a week before she turned three months old so she is definitely an early bloomer here.  The dentist warned us, but I just wasn't prepared!

That Man with the......

Zoe and I were jamming in the car this morning to some new music I downloaded on Saturday.  She was watching a country countdown of videos on GAC with her Daddy on Saturday morning and as I heard songs I liked, I downloaded them (thanks Aunt Patty for the iTunes gift card for Christmas).  Anyway, Zoe asked me this morning, "Did you get the song with the man singing about his car?"  I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked, "Rascal Flatts? Billy Currington? Jason Aldean?"  Zoe said, "No, Mommy!"  I said, "Well, keep listening and maybe you'll hear your song!  A few songs later she said, "You know, Mommy, the guy singing by his car with the hair like Flynn Rider who is handsome like Flynn Rider?"  All of a sudden, the song started and she said, "This is it, Mommy!"  Guess who has hair like Flynn Rider and is handsome like him, too......

Check it out.....

Why Keith Urban, of course!  Duh, Mommy!  And we're big Keith Urban fans around here (well, Mommy is anyway) and for the record....it was "Put You in a Song."  I'll bet Keith Urban is reading my Blog post right now saying, "Of course!  I look just like him, Mate!"  Ha!

Party with the Riggs and the Super Bowl

My bestie Shelley always throws a "friends and family" party for her girls, which I think is a brilliant idea...especially since they're getting older. Don't get me wrong, I know those twins love my Zoe girl and they are so wonderful to her, but they are getting to an age where they each have their own set of friends and they don't need a four year old cramping their style. So, they had a sleepover the weekend before the Super Bowl (their actual birthday weekend) with kids from each of their classes and then Super Bowl Sunday was the "friends and family party." And in case you're wondering, it's only for friends that Shelley pretty much considers to be an extended part of her family. That's why two of Shelley's besties were in the house....namely me and Becca! And since she picked Super Bowl Sunday she decided just to make it a Super Bowl party afterwards. We had a ball and the girls had so much fun, too! The twins (Anna & Ashlyn) wanted the Steelers to win so Shelley and her mother made "cheeseheads" and decided to root for the Packers just to torture them, which was perfect for me because I wanted the Packers to win, too! We love you Riggs! Thanks for a wonderful time!

First Ashlyn's Turn (And Shelley remembers each year which twin gets to go first...AMAZING!)

Then she whips out the lighter for the Anna to have her turn....

McKenna & Zoe

Watching Ashlyn & Anna open gifts!

This picture craps me up because it looks like Anna has taken a jab at Ashlyn with her bat right to the face.  I laughed and laughed and laughed.  And Anna's shirt says "Lost Dog & Sister - Reward for the Dog!"  LOL!

All of the girls....

Shelley & Becca with the "Crack Corn."  Becca was viscious with that bowl!

Shelley a/k/a Mrs. Cheese Head teaching the class...I almost peed my pants.

Zoe, Shelley & Ashlyn with their Cheese Heads.  Shelley told the girls, "Get out of my way you're blocking my light!"  Again, I almost peed my pants trying to take a picture!

And I look like Jack Nicholson from "The Shining"

The BEST friends a girl could ever ask for!

Me and my sweet hubby.  Thanks for the great pic, Shelley!
I'm still waiting to receive your bill!

Nickel

I'll bet you're thinking that this post has something to do with that old saying "if I had a nickel for every time blah blah blah..." aren't you?  Well, you would be majorly WRONG!  Remember when I said I wanted to keep a record of all of those funny things my child has said?  Well, this would be one of those.  Why might you ask?  Well, I'm so glad you did!  You see, Mark was tickling Zoe under her arms, etc., when she busted out and said, "Daddy, you're hurting my nickel!"  I'm sure you can guess what she was really referring to....something that rhymes with dimple!  I'm sure Papa is a little red in the face after reading that right now.  Tee Hee Hee Hee Hee!

Just Like Daddy

Not sure how many of you know this, but my husband went to college on a baseball scholarship (he's probably rolling his eyes while reading this).  Anyway, as you guessed he's pretty good when it comes to softball.  I'm thinking our girl is going to be just like him.  What do you think?

Check out the form!

Zoe's First Time Bowling

So, Shelley's twin girls (Ashlyn & Anna) turned 8 on January 30th and they wanted to go bowling to celebrate.  How sweet is it that they invited us to join them?  Well, technically their mother invited us to join them, but we're going to act like we were the only ones they wanted with them!  Ha!  Anyway, this was Zoe's first time bowling and she absolutely loved it!  My girl did great!  Check it out:

The place we went bowling had this contraption to help children with getting the ball down the lane.  It's a pretty cool invention.

Can you believe she looks so grown up?

Daddy in action!

The birthday girls....Anna & Ashlyn!

Not sure which one decided they wanted a picture taken of their eyeball.  As a side note, Shelley did turn off the flash so she wouldn't injure her child!  Ha!

Go, go, go, go, go.....

Such a poser!

Watching the ball creep s-l-o-w-l-y down the lane!

And Icees rule!
I couldn't catch her mid air again if I tried!
