She's Crawling!

Today Zoe turned 8 months old today and she has started crawling! It's amazing! She's is doing new things all the time and today she just busted out and starting crawling! It brought both Mommy and Daddy to tears! I never really understood it.....but time does fly by. Of course, I took a video of it, but I can't upload it to the blog. Just wanted to share.

My Angel Says....Ma Ma Ma!

Yup. Zoe had been saying "Da" but she busted out the other morning and said, "Ma Ma Ma" while Daddy was feeding her breakfast. Of course, I couldn't believe my ears! Most children say "Da Da" first because phonetically it's easier for them. Let me tell you that is the sweetest sound you will ever hear! And I bought this onesie for Zoe because it was too cute! She actually has angel wings on the back because she's our blessing from above!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Our child is really going through some growth spurts right now and we are constantly finding things she can't wear anymore! I bought this bear outfit with the hopes that if it ever snowed that I could put it on Zoe and take her outside. Well, guess what? It fits her rather snugly. So....I just put her in it and took a picture of her wearing it. She's too cute!

I'm a Big Girl

Last weekend I had to adjust Zoe's crib to lower it since she's become so active and is actually pulling up on stuff. We just had to do it again this weekend because Mommy didn't put it down low enough for the little stinker! As soon as Daddy finished lowering it we placed Zoe in it to see how she would do. As you can see, she pulled herself up to her knees and was trying to chew on her crib! I guess we should expect that since she now has seven teeth! Enjoy!

My Favorite Sleep Position

No matter what I do, Zoe won't quit flipping to her belly. Of course, it makes me paranoid when you've listened to NICU doctors and nurses drill it into your head that you shouldn't let your child sleep on their stomach until they pass one year of age to reduce the risk of SIDS. Simply put, I can't figure out how to keep her from doing it and I find myself constantly getting up all night long to check on her. I guess we'll talk to Dr. Beveridge about it when we see her again and she'll probably giggle at me and tell me not to worry about it. She's awesome and she knows me all too well. I've attached a pic of Zoe sleeping in her favorite position.....

Go Salukis!!!!!!!!!!

As I'm sure most of you know, I graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois....home of the Salukis! I LOVED my college, but what I love most are the memories. My Dad starting taking me to Saluki basketball games when I was seven years old and I have loved every minute of it. Now, I just pray that he gets to continue that same tradition with Zoe. It's times like this that I wish we lived very close to my parents.....so Zoe could see them all the time and, especially, go to SIU basketball games. Anyway, Grandma and Grandpa bought Zoe her first Saluki outfit and I must say it's the cutest thing I've ever seen......and I've got the cutest child to wear it! I've attached pics below.....

Prunes......I Don't Think So

We gave Zoe prunes for the first time on New Year's Day. She wasn't too sure she liked them, but we decided to try them. Daddy has been fighting me on giving them to her because he said he didn't like them and that meant she didn't have to eat them either. Me? I don't want her to be anything like me....a picky eater so I want her to try everything. That's something that my wonderful father instilled in me years ago. I didn't appreciate it then, but he told me that I didn't have to eat all of it, but I had to try it. He always asked me, "How do you know you don't like it if you don't try it?" Now being a mother, I understand where he was coming from. Anyway, Daddy gave in and we gave Zoe her first taste of prunes. She wasn't too sure of them and now Mommy and Daddy have decided that they definitely don't like them. Yes....the prunes worked wonders for her colon! Yuck! I think I'll keep what I have in case she NEEDS to eat them. I don't think I'll just be giving Zoe prunes on a regular basis!

I Love Aunt Patty and Uncle Poopy

Yes, I know this is a weird title, but it's what we call Mark's brother and his wife, Patty. Actually, my WONDERFUL sister-in-law has a pet name for her husband......she calls him "Boopy." Of course, I heard this one night while we were playing board games and thought she called him "Poopy." Now, those of you that know me know that I could never let that pass so.......it's Uncle Poopy!!!! Anyway, they came down for a visit over New Year's Eve weekend and we had an AWESOME time with them. We always get so sad whenever they have to leave because we love them so much. You know how it's hard to have family that you always get along with no matter what? Well, the four of us are that way. We simply love spending time together and have the BEST times together. Since Aunt Patty had switched jobs and didn't have any vacation time to come and see her niece, this was their first weekend here to see little Zoe. Let me tell you, they sure did love seeing her and Aunt Patty has been spoiling her all along already, but we don't mind! Uncle Poopy has to keep her from buying everything she sees for Zoe! We sure do love the gifts they send for Zoe! And we love Aunt Patty and Uncle Boopy! We miss them so much already:0( I've attached pics of our weekend with them and of Zoe opening her Christmas present from them.

My First Christmas

I can't believe we have already reached our first Christmas with Zoe! Boy, time sure does fly by! We had a WONDERFUL Christmas and we did everything we said we wouldn't do....WE BOUGHT ZOE A TON OF STUFF! We said we wouldn't because she's too young to really understand, but we just couldn't help ourselves. They have so many great things for children these days and, before we knew it, we had a ton of gifts for Zoe. Daddy sure was funny on Christmas morning when we were opening gifts. Every time Zoe opened a gift, he took the bow and stuck it on her head. She was so engrossed in her gifts and the wrapping paper that she didn't even notice! We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
