Western Day

Since the Kindergarten was studying the letter "W" this past week, they made this past Friday "Western Day."  I think I had the cutest cowgirl for miles - complete with freckles! Check her out:

Read Between the Wines - My First Book Club

My girlfriends and I got together and decided we wanted to start a book club.  It's small, which I love because if you get too many then it's hard to really participate and have a meaningful conversation.  Plus, we have just the right mix of personalities and everyone gets along really well.  We're all close friends, but we're also Mommies who need to blow off a little steam every once in a while.  We met this past Thursday night to discuss our first book, The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.  Now, I'm a sucker for anything written by this man so I was really looking forward to reading this book.  It's not going to win a Pulitzer Prize, but that's not the point.  We're reading books that WE want to read and ones that WE enjoy.  I was the first one to host and decided that I would host it at Margarita House (a Mexican restaurant) here in Mt. Juliet.  I didn't want to keep Zoe up past her bedtime, plus it's my time to get out with my buds and enjoy myself.  How do you like the catchy name of our club?  Yes, we enjoy drinking some wine, but this time it called for Sangria!  Ha!  Plus, Kim's birthday is this Sunday so we had a little celebration for her.  Check it out:

There were pictures of me, but they were TERRIBLE and since this

Daddy Dressing Up

There's simply NOTHING that Mark wouldn't do for Zoe, including this:

Fiddler on the Roof

The elementary school at Stoner Creek has an EXCELLENT drama/music teacher named Lena Boyd.  She's phenominal (to say the least) and has the drama club (for which you must audition)  put on a play each year.  This year they put on a production of Fiddler on the Roof and to say that I was blown away would be an understatement.  I simply couldn't believe that I was watching a bunch of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders put on the play.  It was awesome and we were thrilled to go see it and watch our London girl. I didn't get to take any pics during the play or after (it was a mad house), but I did manage to take one of Zoe and of the set.

Zoe & Ally Grace

My buddy, Bobbie, that I work with has a little girl named Ally Grace.  Anyway, she is such a cutie (she's 3) and Zoe just loves anytime she gets to see her.  We were supposed to get some VERY nasty storms (and we did) so school dismissed early on the day of the book parade.  I got Zoe and took her to my office with me.  I figured there would be no safer place than in the basement of my building should extreme weather hit us.  Bobbie felt the same way and brought Ally Grace with her to work.  The girls hung out all day and played really well together!  Thank the good Lord that I have bosses and a work environment that will allow us to do things like this.  I can't brag enough on them.

Book Parade

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, the Kindergarten has an annual book parade.  The kids are supposed to pick their favorite book, dress as their favorite character from that book, and either create a poster or a float depicting something from the book.  Well, it's no secret that our girl LOVES princesses and, specifically, LOVES Sleeping Beauty.  Since she had the dress from our trip to Disney, she decided to dress as Sleeping Beauty and Daddy decide to build her a castle float.  Go big or go home, right?!?  Anyway, I went that morning because I definitely wanted pictures and video of it all.  Our girl looked beautiful and she was so proud of her float!  It was definitely the biggest one there and all of the kids/parents/teachers LOVED it!  After the parade, the kids also got to have green eggs and ham (YUCK).  Zoe loved the ham, but she definitely didn't like the eggs (can't say that I blame her).  Check out our beautiful princess and her awesome float!

Check out that castle float!

Check out Sleeping Beauty!

Our beautiful, beautiful girl!
Thank you God for our blessing!

Mommy managed to wrestle that float into the car and get it into school!

Here comes Zoe with her castle float!

The entire school was lined around the walls to watch the parade.
By this point all you could hear was, "I love your castle float!  You look so pretty!"

First T-Ball Practice

It's official!  Our girl is playing t-ball and we couldn't be more proud of her!  Plus, her Daddy is getting to help out the coach and team and he is in hog heaven, too!  As for me?  I love it, but I'm trying to stay back a little bit and let Zoe & Daddy have their "thing."  It's so special to see that bond between them and to see him have such patience while he's teaching her the fundamentals of the game.  And guess what?!?  I took pics at the first practice!  You didn't think I wouldn't, did you?  Ha!

Maddie's Birthday Party

Maddie Parker in Zoe's class had her birthday party and I was lucky to have Daddy take her while I had my hair done.  The birthday party was at Pump it Up in Mt. Juliet and I know Mark had a great time.  I'm not sure who has more fun....Mark or the kids!  Ha!  I'm training him well because he remembered to take the camera!  Yay!

Stoner Creek Family Fun Night

The PTO at Zoe's school puts on a Family Fun Night in the spring for the elementary school students and their families.  I think it's great and it's a great opportunity to meet some of the other parents at school while your child gets to run around like a wild Indian and then promptly crash upon returning home because she's worn out!  Ha! I digress!  It was definitely fun and a great memory for Zoe.  The theme this year was, obviously, a Hoedown and you were supposed to dress up in your best country/western attire.  Mark and I didn't exactly participate (I guess Mark could have gone for the redneck look and worn his camo), but I did put Zoe in a plaid shirt.  Does that count?  I have to say that the best entertainment of the night was Griffey putting on a red cowboy hat and dancing!
