Seven Years

Mark and I have officially been married for seven years as of January 17th!  Wow!  And let me just tell you that hubby did good!  He bought me this......

When I told my Dad about it he said, "That's great, Sweetie!  I know Mark, too.  He doesn't like a mess and he's tired of your books laying around everywhere!"  Ha!  How true!

I think I did pretty good because I bought him this to use during his workouts:
I'd say we're both pretty spoiled, wouldn't you?  We also got to go out to dinner and to see the movie True Grit.  It was awesome!  I paid Zoe's teacher, Ms. Jennie, to come over and babysit Zoe!  Ms. Jennie has a four year old daughter that used to go to school with Zoe named Sydney and they had a big time!  It was totally worth every penny just to get out with my husband and spend a little quality time together!

Now you want to hear the real kicker?  My husband and I are so much alike that we did this:

Yep!  We bought each other the exact same card!  Bwahahahaha!  That's scary!

Yellow Hair

My Zoe girl always says that girls with blonde hair have "yellow hair."  Anyway, when school was closed the other day for snow she was playing Barbies and I heard the following conversation:

Zoe:  "Sister, come here!  I have something I want to show you!"

Keep in mind that Zoe has a Barbie laptop and her and the Babries are looking at the laptop.

Zoe:  "Come look!  This is me when I was in college when I had yellow hair!"

Where on earth does she come up with this stuff?!?  I laughed until I cried!  That child is hysterical!

Morgan & McKenna's 6th Birthday Party

So, my buddy Becca's twin girls turned six and she had a birthday party for them at Big D's Ice Cream Shop.  I can't believe those girls are six!  My how time flies!  Anyway, we had a great time and below are some pics from the party......

Having Fun in the Snow

A few weeks ago we had a pretty significant snow.  So much so that Zoe's school was actually cancelled, which never happens because our director just isn't the type.  I can only recall about 4 others times since Zoe has attended McKendree that the director has actually closed.  I know I'm spoiled and I'm going to feel the affects of it once she attends Kindergarten next year!  Anyway, I stayed home with her and took her outside to play.  Daddy bought Zoe a sled last year and he made sure he got it out for us before he left for work.  I hated that he was going to miss her first time on it so I took the camera outside.  You'll have to excuse the video because I'm running and pulling her, but at least I managed to capture it and that's what matters!

She reminds me of the kid brother from A Christmas Story!

Zoe's American Idol Audition

I know I've blogged about it before, but our girl LOVES to watch American Idol...and so do we!  Our favorite part is actually watching all of the horrible singers during the audition rounds.  Anyway, those of you who know us well know that Mark and I can be absolute goofballs.  I'm thinking our daughter is going to be just like us.  This is Zoe's American Idol audition and her acting like some of the horrible singers.....

Do you think she's going to act like us or what?

Playing Wii

I realize Mark and I are a little behind the times, but we just bought a Wii.  We were a little unsure about whether or not we wanted one (well....someone else was a little unsure but I won't name names but it begins with an M and ends with a K).  We debated and debated until I finally saw one on sale at Target, told Mark about it and when he came home from work, it was sitting on the dining room table!  Ha!  There was nothing left to debate!  All in all it has been great for our family.  We have spent even more time together and our Zoe girl LOVES it.  We actually have to control it and not let her play it every day (I know..we're mean...we actually make her use her imagination and play with her toys).  But, this is our girl bowling with her Daddy.....

Of course, this is what commonly occurs when Zoe bowls with her Daddy...

Notice how Zoe set a record bowling against Daddy?  Bwahahahahaha!

Playing Dress Up

I don't care how old my girl gets, she still loves to play dress up.  And I love it that she does.  She is so stinkin' cute!  I think you'll agree.....

Dressing Up with the M&M's

Before Becca and her girls, Morgan & McKenna left on New Year's Day, the girls kept playing together.  Anyway, they came down the stairs like this.....

Pretty stinkin' cute, huh?

New Year's Eve 2010

Mark and I were blessed enough to have Steve and Patty come visit us again for New Year's Eve.  We decided we would do something we had never done before and that was to invite more people to come join us and just spend the night.  I bet you'll never guess who we invited?!?  Why the Riggs, of course!  And we invited the Potts, but Bryan was a little under the weather.  So, we had a house full of people and we had a house full of fun!  I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had.  Anna, Ashlyn, Morgan, McKenna and Zoe all played together wonderfully and the adults had an awesome time, too!  We kept to tradition and it was the boys versus the girls.  And true to tradition, the girls put the smack down on the boys!  Check it out:

Let the games begin!
The girls playing UNO Attack

The boys contemplating and trying to come up with an answer

Mark tired of yet another wrong answer!  Bwahahaha!

Shelley saying, "Are you seriously going to take my picture again?"

Becca saying, "I don't care - take my picture!"

Me saying, "If it will make you feel better Shelley, I'll take my picture!"

The typical view for Steve & Mark - from the rear!  Hee Hee Hee!

Shelley informing Chris that they are in fact losing!

Mark took a self-portrait and it reminded me of MegaMind!  Don't you agree?

And then the night just went downhill from there.....

In all seriousness, we had the best time.  I don't have one serious picture of our entire group and that's because we don't have anyone in the group who can be serious!  And I love that because it just makes things more fun!  We can't wait to do it again next year - it's tradition!

The Climb

Over the summer we spent the 4th of July with the Potts and Riggs girls.  Anyway, Morgan and McKenna were addicted at that time to watching "Hannah Montana - The Movie."  As you all know, there is a song associated with that movie called "The Climb."  Anyway, Zoe has asked repeatedly to see that movie again.  Mark and I broke down and bought it for her for Christmas and here is our girl watching it and singing.....

Zoe's Door Art

My girl figured out that our front door is metal and that you could stick magnets to it.  So, she took all of the pictures from the fridge and put them on the front door.  This is what I discovered...

Smart little toot, isn't she?

CHRISTmas Day 2010

I have to say that we had a wonderful CHRISTmas and have so much to be thankful for.  Above all, we have our family and our health and that's all we can ask for!  We hope everyone had a wonderful CHRISTmas and remembered the true reason for the season!

Checking out the new Leapster Explorer!
 It's Toy Story 3 Barbie!
Zoe loves all things dogs....she was excited for Benji!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a great day here in the Lawrence household!  We went to church at 2:00  and then came home and put out cookies and milk for Santa.  I do have to tell one funny story about Zoe.  On Christmas Eve we received communion at church.  I don't know about your church, but our pastor is pretty strict about whether or not you receive communion.  He believes you should be baptized, etc., before receiving it.  So, each time we get ready to have communion at church he gives the same lecture...."parents explain the importance to your children....not something to take lightly....shouldn't just let them take it for the sake of taking it..."  You get the gist.  Anyway, when it came time for Mark and I to take ours Zoe tried to take one, too.  I quietly explained why she couldn't, etc., and do you know what happened next?  My child is the only one crying loudly saying, "But I'm hungry!"  I have to tell you honestly that I was pretty much promising the moon just to get her to be quiet.  It was hysterical to say the least!  I hope I get to remind her of this story one day!
