Chattanooga or Bust

Our Zoe girl has been on Spring Break and we decided to let this one be a little low key.  First, we just went to Disney World on her Fall Break.  Plus, we're heading to Orange Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama this Summer where we've already rented a condo right on the beach.  We tried to explain to Zoe that while we would love to take her somewhere extravagant every single time, it's just not possible.  Mark and I are in total agreement that Zoe doesn't have to be entertained by extravagance in order to have a special time.  To us, that's not what spending time together is all about.  We actually like to slow down and enjoy our time together rather than hurrying everywhere all the time.  Plus, believe it or not, we all actually enjoy being at home and enjoy the quiet in our own home.  You can call us weird, but that's what is important to our family.  We did tell Zoe that we would take her to Chattanooga to see the Tennessee Aquarium and to the Creative Discovery Museum.  We decided to go on Friday, March 16, 2012, for the day and we had such a wonderful time.  It was so nice to get to be with just my family.  Of course, we can't really go anywhere geared towards kids without me having to remind Daddy that this was, in fact, for Zoe to enjoy.  Ha!  In all seriousness, that's one of the many things I love about him - the fact that he doesn't take himself too seriously when it comes to playing with Zoe and the fact that he could care less what anyone else thinks either.  I'm sure some thought he was a crazy man (judging from the looks), but we laughed and laughed and laughed.  And when Zoe laughs too much - she tends to get the hiccups.  It becomes so comical.  Anyway, check out pics from our trip.  I should have known we were in for a great time when Mark decided to kiss a penguin during one of our first pictures.

Fun times!
