My Nine Month Checkup

Zoe had her nine month checkup on Febraury 27, 2007 with her pediatrician, Dr. Beveridge. Anyway, she is doing great and Dr. Beveridge was so thrilled with her. She weighed a whopping 22 1/2 lbs and measured in at 29 1/4 inches long! She is measuring in the 95th percentile for both height and weight! Not bad considering she was born four weeks premature! Of course, with the weathering changing constantly down here the wheeze came back! Ugh! So, throughout the month of March we are still on our regular breathing treatments (now twice per day) and we have added an inhaled steroid to the mix that she takes twice per day. I don't like the idea of having her on a steroid for that long, but as Dr. Beveridge said it's not nearly as potent as an oral steroid and, therefore, we can leave her on this for longer periods of time. Apparently, March is the month when everything really begins to bloom and children who are prone to wheeze really have problems. Mark and I just thank God for Zoe every day and just count our blessings that it's not something more serious. We feel so fortunate. Anyway, just wanted to update you on the latest.
