It's official....Zoe is such a big girl! Over the long holiday weekend I decided we were going to give up her bottles and I really worked on getting her to drink strictly from her sippy cup. By the time she went back to school on Tuesday she was fully on her sippy cup! NO MORE BOTTLES! However, over the past several days, Zoe has been refusing to drink her formula. She would drink anything else out of her sippy cup, but she was beginning to hate the formula. Therefore, per Dr. Beveridge's orders, we switched to whole milk last night and she drank her sippy cup like a champ! She LOVES it! She did the same thing this morning! My baby is such a big girl! I don't have any pics......I just wanted to gush a little!

Zoe Goes to the Zoo
We finally were able to take Zoe to the Nashville Zoo! Yeah! We have been wanting to do this for quite some time; however, due of her asthma and the constant illnesses, we weren't able to. Now that warm weather has arrived and most things have already bloomed, we are finally able to get out and about and we are LOVING IT! And Zoe had a big time. I think she enjoyed riding in her stroller more than the actual animals, but I suspect that the older she gets the more she'll enjoy it. I sure do hope so because we purchased a zoo membership and plan to use it a lot!

Happy First Birthday Zoe!
I simply can't believe it. My little Zoe has turned one. Where did the time go? I can remember one year ago today as if it were yesterday. I can remember what I was wearing that day. I can remember riding in the car on my way to my checkup with Dr. Piper. I can remember being at the intersection of Lebanon Road and Briley Parkway at approximately 7:45 a.m. and reading the Mt. Juliet Chronicle while Mark was driving. I remember looking at the clock and saying to Mark, "Well, I guess Dr. Piper is delivering Tracy about right now." Tracy was a girl I used to work with when I first moved to Nashville and I knew from talking to her at Dr. Piper's office that she was going to be delivered that morning via C-Section. I can remember being scared out of my mind when Zoe wouldn't take the practice breaths they wanted to see on ultrasound and Dr. Piper saying to me, "Courtney, May 25th is a great day for a birthday. I'm not taking any chances with this baby." That day was the greatest in my life. All I can say is you can never know unconditional love until you have a child. We feel so incredibly blessed each day to have her.
Anyway, I took the day off to spend it with Zoe and when Daddy got home from work we celebrated her birthday. I've attached pics of our celebration. Of course, we're having the "big" birthday party with friends and family at the Nashville Zoo next Saturday, but there was no way I was going to let Zoe's birthday pass without having one heck of a celebration at home. I hope you enjoy the pics!
My First Shoe Fitting....
Last weekend, Mark and I took Zoe to the mall to have her measured for a really good pair of walking shoes. Anyway, we went to Stride Rite and we had a ball. Zoe LOVED her stroller and was just taking it all in. Enjoy the pics!

Daddy's Sneezes
For some reason, Zoe loves it when her Daddy sneezes. I don't know why, but she just laughs and laughs. I was actually able to catch it on video. This is too cute!

Biter Biscuits
Since Zoe is almost a year old now, we've been giving her "finger foods" to help her practice self feeding. Anyway, I sat Zoe in her high chair this afternoon after she had finished her lunch and gave her a "biter biscuit" and her sippy cup. It was hilarious! She made such a mess, but she did wonderful and LOVED the biter biscuit and the apple juice. Oh, and I've attached a video for you to enjoy, too!

My First Birthday Presents
Last weekend Aunt Patty & Uncle Poopy came down for a visit. We are always so excited to see them and the visits are never long enough! Anyway, they brought Zoe her first birthday presents since they won't get to come down for her birthday party. I've attached pics of the gifts and of Aunt Patty & Uncle Poopy! We love you and miss you already!

So Who Do You Think I Look Like?
Last weekend my parents came down to see Zoe and to participate in the March of Dimes Walk America event with me since it is definitely an organization that I hold close to my heart. (And a big thanks to Aunt Tempie for coming, too!) Anyway, my Dad was staring at Zoe and I commented that there was a particular picture where I thought Zoe looked just like me and my Dad said, "Yeah, the one with your brother where you're in front of the house wearing those red sandals?" It was exactly the one I was talking about. Now that's scary, isn't it? Anyway, my parents had given me the picture to scan into my computer and I've posted it here with a comparison photo of Zoe. I wonder if you guys will think she looks like me?!?

I know in a previous post I talked about Zoe's Moroccan shakers and how much she loves them, but I was able to catch her on video. Enjoy!

Walking the Couch
Zoe has now started walking while holding onto things. It's so amazing to watch and I was able to catch her on video while she was walking down the couch. She's too cute and such a blessing! We thank God each day for Zoe!

Climbin' the Table
When I walked into day care to pick up Zoe yesterday, I learned that she climbed the table where they feed the kiddies! Attached is a picture of Zoe doin' just that.....climbin' the table. This was taken by Ms. Akia with her cell phone! This is hilarious! Her little buddy is Jamison and she just loves him! When one does something so does the other and I imagine he was getting ready to do the same as her.

More of Me Bouncin' in My Bed
These pictures were taken at the same time as the video where Zoe was bouncing in her bed. She was wound up that day and too cute!
Picture with Mommy
It seems I am always the one holding the camera, but Mark grabbed it this weekend and took pictures of Mommy & Zoe. Here is one with me (the only one I'll post) and a few others we took! She's too cute!

See-n-Say
A great friend of mind, Julie, bought Zoe a See-n-Say for Christmas and she loves it. We were able to catch her on video this afternoon and I wanted to post it for all to see. By the way, the glove Zoe is wearing is to stop her from sucking her thumb! It has gotten increasingly worse and she has caused some serious damage to her skin on her thumb. You would think it would hurt and that that would cause her to quit, but it hasn't. Enjoy the video!
Bouncin' in My Crib
Zoe has now figured out how she can stand in her bed and bounce up and down. I was actually able to catch it on video yesterday and I must say it's pretty funny. Enjoy!

Zoe & Grandpa
My parents came down to watch Zoe back in February so Mark and I could go out to dinner for our anniversary. Yes, I know we were married in January, but better late than never. Anyway, they've always got the camera out anytime they're around their baby so they were able to give me these wonderful pictures of Zoe and Grandpa. Aren't they adorable? By the way, Grandma and Grandpa were just here last night and Zoe had a big time with them. We love Grandma and Grandpa!
Daddy Is So Funny!
Just the other day Daddy was giving Zoe a breathing treatment and I could hear her laughing away. I went in to see what was up and have attached a video of it. Children amaze me. You can try and try to get them to laugh and it takes the silliest thing for it to happen. Click on the link below:
