Labor Day Weekend 2010

I realize I'm very behind in updating this Blog; however, I have a really good excuse!  My computer crashed and I've just now gotten a new one!  Oh how I've missed having a computer!  I've been making a list of blog topics to update once I got a new one.  Anyway, we went to see Mark's family on Labor Day Weekend and had a wonderful time.  We stopped on the way up and stayed with Nana & Papa for a night and then continued on to St. Louis.  We did a little shopping and spent a lot of time with family and friends.  Thanks to Aunt Patty & Uncle Poopy for putting up with us for a few days!

Painting

My girl has really gotten into doing art.  She loves to color and make pictures and we've totally been encouraging it.  It's great fun, help her with creativity and keeps her away from wanting to watch the television!  Can I get an Amen?!?  I took her out to the garage while Daddy was doing some stuff and broke out the easel.  She had so much fun with her smock and with her paints.  it didn't take long for Zoe to tire of it, but at least she got to do it.  

Dallas

I'm sure you're wondering what the title of this post is all about.  Well, Dallas is the class dog (he's stuffed of course) for Zoe's class at McKendree.  Each weekend someone gets to take him home and write in his journal about his adventures over the weekend.  Of course, I had to whip out my camera and document his time with The Lawrence Family.  We took Dallas home with us on the day it was "Bring a Friend to Dance Week" when Zoe took Shyla with her to her dance class.  Anyway, we had a lot of fun with Dallas and I have to say that my journal entries were pretty funny.  Bet you'll never guess that I actually tooks pictures, huh?  Bwahahaha!  Enjoy!  By the way, if you click on the picture, it will enlarge so you can read the journal entries.

Baseball with Daddy

My girl loves to play baseball with her Daddy.  Of course, she's really playing T-Ball but let's not get technical about it.  She has such a good time with him and I'm proud to say that she has his eye for sure.  Mommy played softball, but I couldn't hit the ball like she does.  Daddy went to college playing baseball so he's teaching her everything he knows.  I don't know if my prissy girl will actually ever play for a team, but at least she has fun with her Daddy and that's what matters!

Bring a Friend to Dance Week

This past week was "Bring a Friend to Dance Week" at Hermitage Dance Academy.  Zoe takes her dance class with her best friend, Meredith, but I knew she would enjoy taking Shyla.  So, I got together with Julie and we scheduled it to make it happen.  Let me just tell you that those girls had a ball.  And you know that Zoe loves Shyla's baby brother, Seth, and actually named her baby doll after him.  That doll used to be named "Beth".....do you think that doll is having an identity crisis?  I digress.....

I took lots of photos and we actually went out to eat Mexican afterward for Zoe's first time.  I was hoping she would be a trooper and try stuff because Shyla will eat just about anything.  Let me just say that my girl isn't going to be trying Sushi anytime soon, but having Shyla actually helped us out a little bit.  Zoe at least gave it a good effort and has discovered that she likes tacos and refried beans.  Yum!  Check out the photos......

Annual Trip to the Wilson County Fair

Every year we go to our local fair (The Wilson County Fair), which happens to be one of the top 10 fairs in the state.  It's pretty awesome.  Anyway, we usually get to go with The Cassidys, but they've been out of town so much here lately that I wasn't sure that was going to happen.  Anyway, it worked out and we had a wonderful time.  Check out the pics:

On Monday, July 26, 2010, my favorite band of all time....CREED....put on a concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville as a fundraiser for Nashville Flood Relief - Hands on Nashville.  Anyway, when I heard there were tickets on sale, I jumped at the chance to see them (yup....for the 4th time but who's counting).  You want to know what else was great?  My sweet hubby decided to stay home with Zoe girl and let me take one of my best buds, Shelley, to the concert with me.  We had such a wonderful time and the concert was AWESOME!  Of course, Shelley had never seen them before and she's totally spoiled now.  Who do you know gets to see a band for the first time in a venue like that?  There were only 300 tickets sold so it was definitely intimate!  I LOVED it!  Here are a few pics....

Mason's 4th Birthday

Yesterday was Mason Boles 4th birthday party at Pump-it-Up!  Of course, we love any reason to go there and wear our little girl out.  Since my computer crashed at home and I haven't had a chance to replace it, I haven't been able to download pictures from my camera.  In turn, my memory card is full and I haven't bought another one yet.  So, all my pictures have been taken with either my phone or by someone else.  Oh well!  At least I have some, right?

Zoe has been asking to take dance classes for quite some time.  I had tried to get her to take dance before, but by the time she decided she wanted to, we were in the middle of soccer and then swim lessons.  So, I told her that she was going to have to wait until those things were over before she could sign up, which worked perfectly because I've since learned you have to register in the Fall and practice until the recital in the Spring!  Whew!  Anyway, Zoe's little best friend that was born on the same day as her, Meredith, takes dance at Hermitage Dance Academy so we signed Zoe up.  Now, they get to take dance together every Friday afternoon and they are two peas in a pod.  Check out my girl because she is too stinkin' cute.....

McKendree 20th Birthday Party

McKendree United Methodist Church Day Care is where Zoe attends school.  I know I've said it before, but I love that place.  They are positively phenominal and just celebrated being open for 20 years....and with the same director!  Not too many places can compare to that!  Anyway, they had quite a celebration, complete with the band Coal Train Railroad.  If you've never heard, I highly suggest you listen to them and buy their CD!  It's wonderful kids music, but adults can actually enjoy it too!  Above is a pic of my girl wearing a shirt she painted herself in class and chowing down on a chocolate chip cookie! 

You Know You're Child Listens to Her Daddy Too Much.....

....when she begins to pick up what he says and then starts saying it to you.  The other day Zoe and I were heading out of the house to leave for school.  Zoe proceeded to say, "Mommy, you better hold onto that rail since you're hands are so full.  You're going to fall flat on your face."  The second time?  The same morning when we're in the car Zoe says, "Mommy, can you change the song please?  It's wearing me out!"  And, yes, Mark says these things to me probably on a daily basis.  That child that child.....

My Sick Baby

So, my girl was a little sick last week and felt kind of puny:(  When she took a nap I had to snap a picture and send it to Daddy...she is so precious and such a blessing!

Mommy's Work

I seem to have lots of stories to tell about my girl and the things she says....and they occur quite frequently when we're on our way to school.  I think today takes the cake!  My child goes to school two blocks away from my work.  Today we were almost there when she said, "Mommy!  There's your work!"  I looked over and said, "Not quite."  This is what she pointed to.....

No, Zoe.  Mommy doesn't work at the Wild Beaver Saloon!  What will she say next?  If I had been taking a drink of my Diet Dr. Pepper in the car, I would've spit it everywhere!
